Fleet World Webinar: Accounting and Budget Insight
Fleet World is examining the implications of new European rules governing the accounting treatment of company cars, plus the key points from the Pre-Budget Report, in an online seminar or webinar that is free to anyone within the fleet industry.
The new Fleet World webinar, which is being sponsored by Jaguar Cars, ALD Automotive and Ebbon-Dacs, is available to view from 11.00am on Thursday, January 28. Delegates simply have to register online to view the webinar through their own PC or laptop.
The webinar features presentations from Jay Parmar, head of legal services of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association; Keith Allen, managing director of ALD Automotive; and Mike Moore, director, global employer services, at leading accountant Deloitte LLP.
The webinar, which will last approximately for one hour, will look at the issues surrounding the proposed new rules from the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) which will alter the balance sheet treatment of company cars.
Industry commentators have not welcomed the proposals, which are expected to come into force in April next year, saying they will impose an unwarranted level of complexity on all sorts of businesses.
The webinar will explain the implications of the new proposals and examine their potential impact on the fleet market, as well as the possible consequences for contract hire and leasing as a key funding method.
At the same time, the webinar will also explain the key points from December’s Pre-Budget Statement and discuss their impact on fleet car operation, including the tax treatment of free fuel, fiscal incentives for electric cars and other changes to the carbon emissions-related tax system.
Ross Durkin, publisher of Fleet World, commented: ‘We are delighted to announce this first Fleet World webinar and offer our thanks to our sponsors – Jaguar Cars, ALD Automotive and Ebbon-Dacs - whose support has allowed us to bring it to the fleet market at no charge.
‘In this technological age, we believe webinars are the way forward as delegates simply have to log on and view the output through their own PCs and at a time that suits them best. We will broadcast it from 11.00am on Thursday, January 28, and it will then be available for another 3-4 weeks so that potential delegates will have plenty of time to see it.’
To log on to receive the Fleet World webinar, which requires nothing more than a PC with internet connection, simply go to www.fleetworldwebinars.com to register your first name, last name and email address.
